TAMPA BAY FILM BLOG

Where Tampa Bay filmmakers unite. Opinions. Debates. Knowledge. Power.

PREVIOUS - BLOG POSTS - AUTHOR - POST TO BLOG - NEXT

Tampa Bay independent film war goes cold. New site performance. Upcoming Tampa Bay Film features.

Welcome to the Tampa Bay Film Blog.
We would have probably launched this blog under its own domain name, but a petty, jealous, vindictive, insecure, neurotic rival blogger bought the obvious domain name for it back in 2007, when the site launched and we announced that we were working on an independent film blog (We are pretty good about coming up with work-around domain names and good domain names, though, so that strategy is pointless on their part; we are better at this than they are.), in an attempt to block us from having an independent film blog for the Tampa Bay area which could compete with her and her annoying propaganda posts (We can only guess that she saw Tampa Bay Film as a threat and was afraid). Of course, that blog later launched under TampaFilmBlog.Com, grew to over 500 pages, and during the Tampa Bay independent film war of 2008 to 2012, which Tampa Bay Film fought against unprofessional bullies in the Tampa Bay independent film scene, the rival blogger and her friends were defeated. The blogger no longer blogs, now, and we have the market all to ourselves.
In 2012, when our multi site strategy began to backfire and we were penalized by some search engines, it was decided to shut down our sites, such as the Tampa Film Blog dedicated domain blog and the Tampa Online Film Festival, and archive the content so that one day we could republish it on a new Tampa Bay Film site, a site in which all of the most successful Tampa Bay Film sites were added back into the site.
Over the years, we had a variety of blogs on different Tampa Bay Film sites. On this blog, which is our official blog on the new Revolution Class Tampa Bay Film site, which launched in 2013, we will be republishing content from both the Tampa Film Blog and the Online Film Festival Blog, as well as new blog posts, creating a super blog which can also serve as a database for historical reference! While we are toying with the idea of building and deploying a new dedicated domain blog for independent film, it’s unlikely to happen because we also have to create content for our Tampa Film Revolution online publication. So, for now, we will concentrate all of our independent film blog work on this blog, and put that other idea on ice to serve as a possible backup, if it is ever needed.
Besides, with over 500 pages of content over dozens and dozens of posts (as you are about to see, as we will put up the index of those posts here, which will become links when the posts are republished), we will be quite busy here with both old and new posts.
Enjoy!
